TWILIGHT SAGA: BREAKING DAWN

Last Sunday I was looking for a television show that would entertain me and I accidentally tuned in to Star World with Twilight: New Moon. I am not really into vampires, nor wolves. I am not a hypocrite to say that I hate magical movies as well, actually I enjoy watching Harry Potter series, Percy Jackson and the Olympian: The Lightning Thief, The Chronicles of Narnia and others, especially those starred by Nicolas Cage.

I find the film interesting because of the thrill that it gives to it's audience. It's a suspense but more on a romantic film which revolves 360 around Bella's wolf-human-vampire love affair between Jacob Black and Edward Cullen. For me, the scenes are so unpredictable because this is my first time to watch this vampire flick. I didn't even know that New Moon was the first SAGA, followed by Eclipse and this one, Breaking Dawn. I am so innocent with the culture of the Quilite tribe that Jacob's in, and I turn very fearful when there will be a confrontation between the Cullen's and those vampires that eat flesh. I do not want to believe that I find myself accelerating up to finish washing the dishes because I cannot afford to miss a single scene during the party that Alice threw for Bella's birthday, or the scenario where Edward Cullen's gonna be showing the people that he is a vampire. There came Bella to the rescue with Alice, driving that yellow luxury car that made her even hotter than the sun that might have killed Edward.

These question lies in my head: would finally Bella accept her fate to be with the vegetarian vampires, or would give herself up to the Quilite wolf tribe? If she will choose the previous, who would do it then? Would they they change what Alice have foresaw in her vision, or just let it be? What would happen if Jacob knew that Bella has finally accepted her fate? Would he set a revenge plan? This November, The Twilight Saga: BREAKING DAWN Part 1 would be in cinemas in the Philippines. I am looking forward to this next chapter of the Twilight Saga because I simply wanted answers to my questions. I'm still not a fan though. I just want to conclude and jump off to Breaking Dawn.

The official post of the said film (above) received notions from many fans and movie critics.

Me and my friends would often talk about different malls in the Philippines with the best cinema. Of course, who would want to stay on a dust-smelling theatre seats and watch in an old, poor and dissatisfying cinema screen? Sad to say, there are still local malls which doesn't put effort on renovating and updating the interior and cinema equipments used for playing the current digital films. I personally prefer to watch movies in cinemas where I would feel the magic of these films, and that the movie screen is going to eat and absorb me because of the large and very clear screen resolution that would refrain you from doing something under the shadowy areas of the theatre. As far as I know, these are the best local cinemas in the metro:

1. IMAX - which is in SM Mall of Asia (MOA) in Pasay City. I will rate this 5 stars but the cost is twice or maybe thrice of your local mall's cinema complex. It is the best for it has the full capabilities of providing a 3D film, a full IMAX experience.

2. Alabang Town Center, Cinema 1

3. Gateway Theatres - not the lazyboy seats.

4. The Podium Cinema 1 & 2

5. Robinsons Galleria Cinema 1

6. Greenbelt 3 Cinema 1, 2 and 6

7. Shangri-La Cineplex

8. Trinoma Cinema 7

9. SM North Cinema 4

(Click on the links to check the cinema movie schedules. You may go to www.sureseats.com)

I think the best cinema to watch this film would be in Greenbelt 3, Cinema 6. To my luck, I know friends who's gonna be holding a BLOCK SCREENING of this film on NOVEMBER 18, 2011 in GREENBELT 3, CINEMA 6 at 9:30 pm. You may contact this person for ticket reservation of the EXCLUSIVE BLOCK SCREENING of Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn Part 1.

MR. MICHAEL BONUS - (09175928488)

The proceeds of this ticket selling will benefit the children of Hospicio de San Jose, an orphanage located in Manila. So make your Twilight Saga Movie Experience worthwhile, making these children happy through availing these tickets.

Would  I become a vampire like them if I watched this new Twilight film? Really now.

BOREDOM IS A SOLUTION TO UNPRODUCTIVITY

From the usual 3:00 in the afternoon waking up hour, I woke up a little early today at 9:00 in the morning. All I did was, I cleaned the house and watched movies which of some sort I find it interesting especially when Star World just flashed this resume clip while I was watching Twilight: New Moon:

I checked my e-mail if there's something I should see that would hopefully arouse my senses to become a deserving mortal today, all I got were from Multiply, LinkedIn and an e-mail from a colleague who says that she is her own boss.

I opened my social network site accounts,I've stalked several groups which I am subscribed to, doing it so just made my situation worse. I feel so helpless, I wanna sleep, but my presence doesn't want me to. I wanted to do something else that would stimulate my senses, but that would be crime. I do not know what I wanna do or if I wanted to do something at all. Until I posted in my Twitter account that I was finally bored.

C. D. Fisher describes boredom as an unpleasant, transient affective state in which the individual feels a pervasive lack of interest in and difficulty concentrating on the current activity. There are many factors why people experience this condition. Some people get bored because they cannot find something to do, people who feel lonely and loveless mostly, doing something for longer hours or maybe you're doing it out of your interest or worse, you wanted to go somewhere or have something in your life but you cannot get it because you do not have the means.

Many website would offer various means on how to reduce or ways to get away from boredom. But the most effective solution to that crazy condition that prevents from focusing and accomplishing much more important things than to daydream is this - check your planner or your schedule tickler if you have appointments to attend on the next few days or if you have a deadline. Start doing it, eventually you'll overcome boredom.

But if you do not want to become busy and just wanted to relax the whole day, keep being bored. Boredom is a solution to unproductivity, it's more than an excuse, for when you become bored, you end up doing nothing. And that's better than compelling yourself to do something which will result to a poor output. But be careful, this doesn't work at all times and at all circumstances, and you must also remember that this is just my insight.

I am very frustrated to buy that Celeteque Acne Cleanser set because I don't think products from a company that doesn't specialize in facial skin care would be that effective in helping me solve my problem. It's still our college's semestral break and my money is not yet enough to buy the set. Add to my disappointment the delay of the start of our class because the faculty would be having their meeting on the supposed date of the start of the second semester. This afternoon I was very close at buying a different product, but it's a good thing that I was bored and I have insufficient resources, I cancelled buying it.

This is such an irony of my previous post, but what I did is actually more than that. I googled some review about that product and to my luck, I was saved. Having patience is still my best asset.

Am I still bored until now you asked? Yes,I'm bored no more.

PROCRASTINATION: A POISON TO EVERY SUCCESSFUL ATTEMPT.

Where did you go this day?
With whom are you with?
What did you do?
Did you had fun today?
Did you became productive?
Did you have to take risk?
Did it pleased you?
Are you satisfied?
Would you like to do the same routine again?
Would you like to risk again?

I had to wake up by 8:00 in the morning today because I have a meeting with our student council auditor for her quarterly financial transparency exhibit. I still have to do my chores before I leave home: fix my bed, clean the house, the old school routines that just ate my time. I reached the office at around 11:00 AM and I immediately started to work. After we had our lunch, we went to a coffee shop to buy some frappes to refreshen ourselves and at the same time, start collecting some stickers for the company's most awaited planner promo. Most of us got disappointed with the total look of the new planner, but everyone's bitter pill turned into sweet pills after getting some talk at a tea house. We had so much fun conversing about stuff, add our gay friend who just made our day. It was already 5 in the afternoon when we got back in the office and everyone's  preparing to go somewhere else in the south. It is raining outside and I was tempted to go home with my friend after some smart dialogue about our desired career in the future and about the reign of the late president Marcos in the Philippines.

The travel route I took tonight was the easiest - van from Morayta (in front of FEU) to Bocaue, Bulacan. I can be dropped at Petron Station in Marilao, but I decided to stop over at SM in Marilao. I went to the department store and checked some medical ointments for my pimple. I looked so ridiculous standing in front of some facial care boutique for like 15 to 20 minutes, checking every detail of the product - when it comes to skin care products I really read all the details especially the active ingredient of the product (as if I know how it functions) because I am afraid to use products that are new to me, because of the fear that it may just worsen my skin condition. I was able to find a perfect scrub for my face but I didn't bought any, even though It's tested to be mild and even I have the resources to buy the set. I feared. I feared because I haven't check The Face Shop yet, where all the products have organic components which will not greatly harm my skin. Because I haven't checked Mercury Drug yet, maybe they have a better dermatologist made ointments for pimples. Because I haven't visited Watsons yet, I heard there are good skin care products offered in this all-in-one shop.

But what if I gave this product a chance? What if it cured my skin problem? What if? What if? What if what? What if I did not procrastinated when I was there? What if I just bought the product so I can start healing my pimple?

Procrastination is the evil twin of our conscience, for we would often find ourselves fighting our spiritual self, our inner thoughts, contradicting the right action that should be done in the given situation to get the best result. It is always our choice to procrastinate or do the right thing, but we should always keep in mind that in procrastinating, we postpone the positive end result of doing the right thing or never let the good thing happen at all. But why do we procrastinate? In my case, I did not bought the products because first, I feared. Maybe it would just worsen the condition of my skin. And second, I thought that maybe hitting the mall on the other day would give me more product options than buying this product on my hand at the moment.

You might have experienced procrastinating, maybe once, one hundred times, one thousand times, or you may not have counted how many times you procrastinated since the time you started doing it. Aside from fear and laziness, here are the reasons why a person procrastinates:

3. Indecision - you balanced your decision making criteria and you end up not deciding.

4. Priority Confusion - there always come a time when we weigh each task in our to do list. Sometimes, we prioritize things according to the most desirable to our least liked task to accomplish, rather than weighing these task according to the deadline or what should be done first.

5. Lack of Energy - energy is one factor for procrastinating. Most of the time when we lack the energy to perform task, we tend to rest or sleep.

6. Early Morning Lag - or the scenario when we do not know what to do at the start of the day, so we end up finding ourselves sitting in one corner or sleeping the whole day like a bum.

7. Boredom - this is what we mostly feel when facing repetitive tasks.

8. Complicated Task Anxiety - the tasks that are assigned to us are just so complicated that we end up not doing the task. You break the biggest task into smaller once and start doing it.

9. Unproductive Circle of Friends - this is one factor that the youth should not take for granted because peer pressure is everywhere in our every-friends. If their circle are full of people who did not do anything good in their life but to have fun and get wasted all the time, they are definitely no good examples. Choose your friends.

Or maybe, people don't just appreciate the importance of finishing a task right away - that's why they procrastinate.

One action that I failed to do is to take risk. Being a risk taker (someone who do actions without knowing the outcome) is for me a necessary attitude of a person. Businessmen are mostly risk takers, especially those entrepreneurs who are just starting their business. If Jerry Baldwin, one of the original owners of Starbucks did not took risk in purchasing Peet's, a coffee shop that sells high quality coffee and high-tech equipments for brewing which is owned by Alfred Peet (who know works in Starbucks), Starbucks would not be known internationally, having more than 15,000 branches all over the world, or severe, Starbucks would not exist at all. If it weren't the aggressive attitude of Sam Walton in business, WalMart would not top the Forbes' 500 companies in the whole world for how many years. If the scientist or the normal people who played a big role in the development of human civilization did not took risk to invent and innovate things and improve the natural process of God given resources, we will surely be living in caves right now. If only I bought the product in the department store a while ago, who knows my pimple might be gone tomorrow. We should take risk. I should say, it's a requirement for each person to somehow, somewhere and sometime in their lives to take risk, wether or not they are sure of the end result of our action. But ofcourse, making a risk decision should be properly guided by purpose and reason. We do not risk everytime! There are just some instances that we should take risk to progress, to develop and feel the improvement in our system, in our work, in how we see and do things, or in our life.

Procrastination, is a poison to every successful attempt. Procrastination, as described by Napoleon Hill is the common enemy that everyone must conquer. We do not need light sabers or be in the boxing ring and beat Pacquiao inorder for us to beat this poison, this enemy. Procrastination is can be easily solved through our action. Once you beat procrastination, motivation becomes present because we now see and feel the importance and effect of finishing a task right away. Once we beat this evil twin of our conscience, we are still not safe for not being conquered by it again. We are human beings and we are easily tempted. But viewing the positive and right perspective, we are smart human beings that knows how to be productive and make right decisions for ourselves. Making it a habit to fight procrastination, will eventually kill this evil twin and we will become more motivated and productive than ever. We must remain vigilant in fighting this evil twin as we set our roads to our success.

RIGHT DECISION + INITIATIVE = ENDING PROCRASTINATION
RIGHT DECISION + INITIATIVE + MAKING GOOD RISK JUDGEMENT = SUCCESS

My ending conclusion, I will buy the facial wash tomorrow. It's my action, for me to see the results in my current skin problem. So how about you, what will happen to you tomorrow? Are you gonna be somewhere in the world, hoping to be productive or just wanna have fun with your friends? Who knows, maybe you'll end up creating a blog post, too.

If you would ask me if I became productive tonight, I would definitely say yes, it's in bold and italic. Because by this dilemma I am facing, I was able to create another post, which I am so proud to say that I was able to create a masterpiece tonight. I hope I was able to enlighten some of you, through my post, and help you get motivated to start things right, to the students, especially those who will start another semester this November 8, 2011. Always remember the equation I made above, hoping that it would set your focus and help bring you success in every way.

I remember the short tag line of one of the high-end sports company recognized internaitonally, "JUST DO IT." That's right. Just do what should be done and everything will come along your way.

ADE[LEGEND]

IT HAS BEEN a while since I created a post about my favorite artist. Last year I blogged about Vienna Teng, a Taiwanese-American pianist, songwriter and singer. She was able to capture the interest of many, especially in the English countries and also in China for her enticing voice. Her albums peaked Amazon.com and was also featured in many talk shows like The Late Show with David Letterman.

We are in the musical revolution where Telephone paved way for paparazzi and the beautiful, dirty, rich lady who likes it rough while maintaining the poker face look [not mentioning that she is born that way] reached the fame and now she is on her edge of glory. And this boy who wants a lot for Christmas: mistletoe, the Christmas song, he heard that santa claus is coming to town, and wants to duet with Mariah Carey in all I want for Christmas is you and the thing that intrigues many fans and haters, the drummer boy. In this kind of music genres, it's very unusual for a blues/soul country music to enter the scene and capture almost the entire music market.

With Adele's voice, it can conquer everything.
ADELE, a young British singer born on May 5, 1988, who was known for singing "Rolling In The Deep", "Someone Like You" and "Rumor Has It" has captivated the people all over the world. She might not be known for her real name which is Adele Laurie Blue Adkins, but sure is she's known for her earthy, silken voice [as what Lorely Trinidad describe her voice in MONDAY Magazine] with the music inspiration of Etta James, Ella Fitzgerald and Roberta Flack. While many singers would have many back-up dancers and dance production, fireworks if there's any artist who did that already and a set of big stage with many spotlights in their concert, Adele would have with her on the stage only her musicians, her two loyal back-up singers and herself, sometimes just sitting at the center of the stage singing her life. The simple and adorable Adele with such a beautiful voice would make her audience wipe their tears off their eyes.

ADELE'S CAREER:

Her mother supported her inclination to music when she started singing at 4. It's funny that during special family occasions, she impersonates many artist like The Spice Girls and Destiny's Child. Her natural likeness in music led to her first penned album "Hometown Glory" and finally had formal music instruction at BRIT School in Croydon, a performing arts school which honed her talent in singing and playing instruments.

In May 2006, Adele graduated from Croydon and four months later published two songs at the online publications site PlatformsMagazine.Com. Months later, a friend posted a three song demo on MySpace from a mutual class project featuring Adele's vocals and it grabbed the attention of the music label XL Recordings. A phone call from XL Recordings led to a meeting, despite Adele's initial thoughts the call was not "real," as the only record company she was aware of at the time was Virgin Records. In 2007, a record deal followed and Adele's "Hometown Glory" was released. [www.brainz.org]
From then on, she released her 19 album and it topped the music chart in United Kingdom, and later on tied up with XL Recordings and Columbia Records which expanded her career in the United States, releasing her album 21 which brought her to many shows and opportunities in the US like The Ellen Degeneres Show, The Late Night Show with David Letterman and the Graham Norton Show. She is a two timer title holder in Grammy Awards, and was awarded in BRIT and other special awarding ceremonies, just proving that at a short span of time, she had a lot of achievements. She's doing a world tour and there were rumors that she'll be having her concert in the Philippines this December 5, 2011. But it was just a rumor.

Her 19 album, it was rated 68 out of 100 by www.metacritic.com, but BBC gave it a 5 star, quoting "Pitching up somewhere between blues, folk and jazz, she's included something for everyone without ever pandering to a particular trend. Her melodies exude warmth, her singing is occasionally stunning.." When Adele realized that her boyfriend cheated on her, she went to the bar where her boyfriend's at and punched him in the face. After that she was alone walking along a street and thought to herself what is it that she is chasing? "You're chasing an empty pavement." It's the story behind Chasing Pavement which is included in this album with its stunning music video. Her amazing rendition of the song Make You Feel My Love is really heartfelt. She offered this song as a tribute to Amy Winehouse in one of her concert in San Diego, [California]. The sad Hometown Glory and her second single Cold Shoulders completed the album of a young woman who is getting out of her teenage corner as she turns 19.

ADELE'S 21 is more on her bitterness and bitchy side for being cheated by her boyfriend. In her Rolling In The Deep, Adele sung it like a woman who experienced a lot of pain and loneliness that has finally seen a light to escape from this nightmare. According to Adele, she was able to hit high notes that she have never imagined that she can, out of maybe her anger, her madness towards her ex-boyfriend. The punky blues with some percussion accompaniment, in the catchy Rumor Has It, this is a song where she makes fun of her ex-boyfriend but contradicted by her song Someone Like You which showed who really Adele is when she's thinking of her past. But my most favorite song of Adele in this album is Don't You Remember. I really feel sad whenever I hear this music, aside from the fact that I can relate to her, I cannot imagine her pain. 21 set the record for any artist  - it placed 2nd in the top selling list of www.amazon.com in 2011, and was featured in the Guiness Book of World Record for topping the music charts entirely in UK and US.

Her music videos are mostly live performances in her home, in Largo, in iTunes Festival or filmed during her live concerts. I sometimes cannot help myself but compare her with the late president Cory Aquino who, loves candid shots. Her Someone Like You (Live In her Home) video in YouTube has reached 72 million views, and the astonishing count of viewers of her Rolling In the Deep video that reached 287,339,270 and is still counting. [as of today, 4:04, May 5, 2012]

It is just astounding how Adele write and sing her songs, it's really coming from the heart. Her life experiences were written and expressed through songs that eventually made her ease the pain through the joy and warmth she feels whenever she sing these songs infront of large audience, craving for more. It  just proved that songs written from the deepest bottom of one's heart will not just make money, but will capture many hearts as well. I remembered one of her conversation with her producers, the Executive producers told Adele to lose weight. But she replied: "I write music for ears, not eyes.

Simply Adele.

STARBUCKS PLANNER 2012

This is my Starbucks Planner 2011 and its Metallic. I always put my random thoughts and how I feel on my planner. I also write on it my friend's party and birthdays, to-do list, my meeting schedules and sometimes I use it in taking down notes when I forget to bring bond papers with me during seminars and conferences that I attend to. When I get bored, I often browse my previous planner and check what I did on that date and try to relive it again. In short, I put the list of what's important to me and what will I do about it, and it helps bring back the old happy times.

2011 is about to end, and this signals Starbucks to release the new Starbucks Planner 2012! It was said to be released starting November 3, 2011. From the three (3) texture choices we have last 2011, VelvetMetallic and Wood, with the theme of saving the environment, this year we can choose from 5 color variant designs: Poplar, Bamboo, Cherry, Spruce and Oak [from lightest to darkest respectively] which are 70% made of recycled papers. Like the usual process, you can grab a planner in three (3) ways:

1. 17 Stickers (Drink or treat your friends with 9 Christmas beverages and 8 Core beverages)
2. 23 Stickers (Drink or treat your friends with 23 core beverages, bottled drinks are not counted)
3. FREE STARBUCKS PLANNER (If you avail P5,000 worth Starbucks merchandise)

The Starbucks planner 2012 comes with a bookmark and planner bag unique for each planner style! It's a convenient thing that the company has provided a bag for the planner because there are people who are OC about their planner like me. I have to use my project in Science during my freshmen days, I call it Book Bag because it's main purpose is to replace the use of plastics in covering their books. It is made from flour cloth (katsa) which I soaked in dark coffee that's why it appear brownish in color and some piece of cloth I found at home. Tell me if you like it and I will make one for you. Ofcourse it comes with a price! You can feel secured with the new feature of this planner as it has a unique serial code for each for security purpose. I also heard that there are minimal changes on the layout of the pages. It has more pages for notes. More Note pages = more doodle fun or you can always neglect to bring bond papers during your seminars because you have a lot of free pages in your Starbucks planner! The new planner is SMALLER than the previous planner. In my raw measurement, it's only 7-8 inches in height and maybe 5-6 in width. Female consumers would love it because it's more handy.

What's good on buying these planners  is that you get to donate P50 each planner to UNICEF in their project with Starbucks Philippines, SparkHope Community which supports and provide materials for early child development in the selected communities in the Philippines. Since 2004, Starbucks and UNICEF were able to gather P1.7 million. Make your drinking meaningful by helping others especially the bright morrows of our future, the youth! If you want to donate personally to UNICEF, you can inquire on Bayad Centers and iRemit Centers near you, or inquire at Globe Customer Care on how to donate using GCash.

Three reason why you should avail the new Starbucks Planner 2012?
1. It's USEFUL and PREPPY.
2. It's HANDY and
3. It COMES WITH A CAUSE - Saving the environment and the proceeds that will go to SparkHope Community on the development of the youth.

So get ready, get set and collect them all stickers! Good luck!

Like and share this post to your friends!
