PLONING : Out in Oscars

The year of the Ox welcomed with closed doors the Philippine indie film movie Ploning, the official entry of the country in this year's Oscars Best Foreign Movie, after not being chosen to be one of the 9 foreign movies, to win the title. According to the news which has spread like a virus, Ploning was not included in the most favorite films in this year's Oscars.

That is definitely a sad new for everyone especially to those people behind this film. We've seen Judy Ann Santos with his boyfriend Ryan Agoncillo doing together a lot of campaign for her best film. She even went to GMA7 to promote her film and produced a book based on the film Ploning which is now i think in stores nationwide. Many people gave their supports morally and financially to Judy Ann for the film.

I made a review of this film for our Filipino subject and I really hated the result. I don't give a damn to them.

The 65 board of jurors of Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Science have voted and here are the top 9 foreign films for Oscar's Best Foreign Film 2009 :

3 Monkeys (Turkey) - Directed by Nuri Bilge

Everlasting Moments (Sweden) - Directed by Jan Troell

Waltz With
Bashir (Israel) - Directed by Uli Edel

The Class (Fr
ance) - Directed by Laurent Cantet

Tear This Heart Out (Mexico) - Directed by Roberto Sneider

Revanche (Austria) - Directed by Gotz Spiellman

The Necessities Of Life (Canada) - Directed by Benoit Pilon

Departures (Ja
pan) - Directed by Yojiro Takita

The Baader M
einhof Complex (Germany) - Directed by Ari Folman

I hope there would be a dvd release of these films so I can watch them. Or I must say, I prefer watching it in wide screen with appreciative friends.

Men's Bag

You must not be surprised. Trends do change. If in the past years, skinny jeans were worn by women, they also now look good with men. The designers of these creations thought of something new. Something different that they made shoulder bags for men. I bought one shoulder bag from Refill and hell, when I saw it, I just can't help but to buy it. :) From that on, I look forward to shoulder bags though I still like backpacks. :)

From simple leather designs to checkered

And the elegant black and white terno bag. (right)

The shiny silver leather bag (right) is one of my favorites. With it's big size, It can accommodate all my necessities when going to a volleyball play.

Look great with these bags. Yes. Shoulder Bags for men.

What's Poppin'?

As we all know everyone hopes for a change in their life. A change in their bad habits, a change in their love life and career and everything because it's really change that's constant. Tip of advice from me: Now why don't you take a glimpse at the new shoe trends for men this 2009? Somehow you'll be replenished and relieved about worrying for a change. You'll just be bothered where to buy these great products!

I've seen these in my mail and followed the link after it. These great designer's leather shoes made me have a second thought on buying myself a brand new phone over one of these great pair of shoes (or maybe someone will be so kind to give me *grin*).

The stiletto-type are still in line this year. I don't know what do you call these mix-match leather shoes. They all come from colors black, to white, and blue. You demand for color brown, then they'll give you neon orange. Stop wearing those hard Havaianas. Try these simple strap like flip-flops that' would suit your neck and tie attire. (I think I've seen a flip-flops like that. Locally made, Beachwalk. Ohaa!) All I know was they are all great! I'm really looooking forward to own one of these.

Great designs, I hope they have less prices!

Not A Serious Essay Though.

Another leaf fell from our fig. Another fight to win. Another year to take on.

This year's new year is very sad. It rained here in my hometown. Even during Christmas where you usually see people outside their houses partying, doing the videoke thing, singing their lungs out. Sharing their foods on their plate with their family friends merrily. But now, You could see all of their tribes inside their houses and garage (if they have). Colorful umbrellas ruled the night.

That went until the new year's eve. In Makati Area it did not rain that much, that's why GMA7 and ABS-CBN continued their new year count down celebration in different places. When I woke up at 10:00 pm, I just watched Disney Channel's Mr. Bean Holiday. And when the clock finally lashed 12, my family were all outside, still, they were happy doing the fireworks especially my young cousins. Oh, not to mention that we're the oldest in my father's side. But I just stayed inside the house. Smoke free, healthy.

New Year Resolutions? I don't have any. I mean, I intentionally did not list my resolutions. I can't do them all anyway, and it will just be a pressure to me. But now, I'm currently listing my firsts!
That's one reason why It's just now I have updated my blog. I've been busy and I thought you should know, too.

This new year's so harsh to me. I guess it's not really the year's fault. It's me who joined these many activities that keeps me stressed. I hated loving it. I'm a COCC Applicant and luckily baleful, I topped the election as the Class Marcher and It's really crushing me. I don't even memorized all these 11 Gos and other Desiderata thing. And what's so prodigious being a class marcher is when they are being punished, the officers double the punishment to me. "Oh no, does that mean when they are doing 100 pushups, you'll do twice?" Exactly. Amazing, isn't it?

Good thing I'm still inspired this year. Coz' tomorrow, I'll be able to get my Starbucks Planner 2009 from Luisa! n_n Voila! I selected the black one 'coz it 's my trend. I can't wait for tomorrow to come. But now, I'll be off and attend later 5:30's induction of officers as the External Vice President of our Youth Org at St. Michael Parish Church. I don't think I'll be able to take pictures later. I'll try.

My Icons

Here are 3 of the celebrities I look up to.
Alvin Alfonso Jon Avila Tim Yap

____________________________________

Alvin Alfonso
He is a Filipino model with the height of 188cm and weighed 70kg. He models for Bench Philippines, he is also seen with Colgate, Lewis and Pearl, and the local telephone company PLDT DSL commercial where he is seen to be the hero with electric powers, inviting you enthusiastically to apply for the DSL promo, and Piknik. He did not really surprised me for being one of the most sought-after commercial models before. And until now, he may be seen in countless magazine and print ads. It's his body that I worship for. I really wish to have a body like that and I'm currently working on with it, gradually. n_n I'm eating a lot now. He's been an icon for me for a long time. I remembered, a close friend even made a collage of me and my Idol. This picture was last 2007 pa I think. NAKAKAHIYA. :D

ANYWAY.

Jon Avila
This Filipino-British model has won the title of the Century Tuna Superbod 2006 and later on became an endorser of the International clothing brand, Bench Philippines. His breakthrough to showbiz is via the Filipino adopted reality show Pinoy Big Brother Celebrity Edition and later on, he became the lead actor in ABS-CBN's afternoon show Komiks as Kapitan Boom. He ranks no. 7 in the poll RP's Most Sexiest Men 2008.

His tantalizing eyes and his height is his best asset for me.

Tim Yap
He lives an extraordinary lifestyle as an actor-host-endorser-model-entrepreneur-editor-writer and eventologists. The people wouldn't call him eventologist if he's good for nothing. He is known to be the king of social scene and loves to dress up. He is a proud co-owner of the intrigue prone bar Embassy where celebrities hang out to and where they most likely get into trouble. And obviously, he is a fashion starter for men. I love how he come up and wear these trendy and cool clothes from his closet.

HE became an inspiration to me to take up Marketing in college. I wanna be like him, who's aspirations are high and very popular. My friends are always telling me that in someway, I get to be like him, because I'm quite unique with clothing style and the looks. In the morning when I wake up I look like him because of my chinese like eyes from bed. n_n

TRIVIA:
Did you know that he was really poor when he was young and grew up in Divisoria? And now, look at him, one of the high socialite people that were well respected and known for their great determination, great lifestyle and great riches.

Who's Who?

"Who's that effin' singer changing the American Hymn into RnB?"

If you watched and took a serious glimpse with everything during "The Dream Match" of Oscar De La Joya VS Manny Pacquiao, you would notice this strange singer who I think doesn't know what are the laws and bills of changing, manipulating, and using illegally the National Anthem of a country.

Damn! She just made it into RnB style! Never mind the dress and outfit which is obviously really over extravagant. This has to be the worst performer ever who sang the American Anthem during Pacquiao's fight. And yes, she must be put beside the man who threw a show at Bush during in one of his conference in the East. Don't tell me she's nervous after all the live gigs and shows she had before she sang this godly hymn.

She is the soulful diva, Keyshia Cole. She made a real history for topping the Music Hit Charts 3 times as a newbie in this industry, and from that on, she was really famous and this RnB diva had touched the hearts of the Americans. Actually she really is a great singer. But watch how her wild and fainting performance made De La Joya become weak in his game.

And look at this man behind De La Joya. No, it's definitely not Pacquiao. Probably his double. :D
